Q: Do I need to install special software for Ablemouse?
A: No, there
is no special software to install. All you need to do is set your “mouse” preferences
to those expressed in the User’s Guide.
Download the User's Guide here, in
PDF Format.
Q: Is the Ablemouse compatible with older operating systems?
A: Yes. It is compatible with WinNT and Win2000
as well as WinXP.
Q: How will Ablemouse help my RSI?
A: RSI is caused by repetitive strain. You can change AbleGrips or hand positions easily
with Ablemouse thereby reducing the repetition. Ablemouse also reduces the
work and
therefore the strain of moving it when compared to a standard mouse.
Q: Is that handle used like a control stick?
A: No, it is used like a pen or pencil. You can hold it any way you want. Your Ablemouse comes with both a thick and a thin AbleGrip. Use the one that feels best for your hand or switch between them. There are also many other AbleGrips available by special offer.
Q: Do I need to bend my fingers to do the clicks?
A: No, just press straight down like writing for the left-click, and press
the little platforms to right and left of the tip for right and middle (scroll)
click.
(see User’s Guide).
Q: Is the Ablemouse as precise as a standard mouse?
A: Yes. One of the newest features is a remote left click allowing for extremely precise work. You can just hold the cursor over the target and click with the other hand. No slipping or movement of the cursor.
Q: Is it good for older users and children? That is, is it easy to learn to use?
A: Yes, for many people it is easier to learn to use than a mouse is. If
you are used to a mouse, you will have to practice a little because it
works a little
differently but in the end it works much more easily.
Q: Can I return the Ablemouse if it doesn’t help my hand problem?
A: Yes, You can return it at any time for any reason for the first three
months
and get all your money back. (But most people don’t want to.)
